The standard period, including practice, is 3 years. Studies are completed with a final state exam, which usually includes the defense of the bachelor’s thesis. The graduate receives a bachelor’s degree (Bc.).
Follows up on the bachelor’s programmes, the standard period is 2 years. Non post-bachelor programmes take usually 5 or 6 years. The programme is finished by the final state exam, which usually includes the defense of the master’s thesis. The graduate receives master’s degree (Mgr.), MUDr. or MDDr. (doctor of dental medicine).
The standard duration is 3 or 4 years. The programme is finished by the state doctoral exam and the defense of dissertation. The graduate receives doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
The graduates of master’s programmes who received the master’s degree can also pass the state rigorosum exam, including the defense of rigorosum thesis. Upon successful completion, they receive the following degrees: JUDr., PhDr., RNDr., PharmDr., ThLic., ThDr.
The joint degree scheme refers to shared study with international partners. Upon completion, the student receives a shared diploma, or multiple diplomas issued by partner universities.
